Hosts
How Hosting Works
Overall Model
- Hosts donate unoccupied nights to ministers. (Host will be able to block off any dates not available to ministers on PastorStays calendar.)
- The minister pays a cleaning fee.
- PastorStays drops this cleaning fee into the host’s secured Stripe account.
- The minister pays for any damage done to the property during their stay.
Four Steps to Post Your Home
Step 1: Get your house ready
- Follow our Helpful Checklist to get your home ready for hosting.
Step 2: Create a PastorStays account and follow instructions
You will be asked the following information when posting a home:
- Title for your home.
- Warm description, highlighting the unique features of your home.
- Number of beds and bathrooms.
- House Rules. Add any specific house rules and policies for your place. (Check out time, pet policies, quiet time, etc.)
- House Availability. Briefly describe the best times for the minister to stay at your place. (Weekends, weekdays, seasons, etc.)
- Additional Fees. List additional fees and amounts that may apply. (Pet fee, late check out, peak seasons, etc.) You, as the host, are responsible to invoice the minister directly for additional fees.
- Market value (to communicate the value to the minister accurately).
- Up to 20 photographs showcasing your home's best attributes.
- Payout details. We use Stripe as our payment processor and will automatically provide you with the cleaning fee once a request is reserved. You will receive your cleaning fee within 24 hours of accepting a request.
- Dates not available to the minister. Be sure to block out your calendar accordingly.
Step 3: Accept or decline request
At PastorStays, we prioritize the comfort and autonomy of our hosts. When a minister requests a stay at your place, you have the freedom to choose whether to accept or decline the request. We understand that every host has unique circumstances and preferences and we want you to feel empowered in your decision-making process.
- PastorStays communicates to the minister whether you accept or decline their request.
- If you decline a request, we recommend that you use our chat feature to suggest better times for the minister to stay at your place.
Step 4: Communicate with the minister
While PastorStays initially communicates reservation details to the minister, you can continue the conversation using our convenient chat feature.
Share the following important information:
- Location and address of your home.
- Instructions on how to access the house.
- Any specific house rules that need to be followed.
- Words of encouragement.
- Invoice any additional fees.
